The Center for Sports Cardiology at the University of Washington in collaboration with the Australasian College of Sport and Exercise Physicians are extremely excited to offer open access worldwide to a new collection of six online ECG training modules. These are based on the ‘International Criteria’ and the latest consensus recommendations for ECG interpretation in athletes.
1. Basic ECG interpretation in athletes
- Recognize common physiologic ECG findings related to cardiac adaptation in trained athletes
- Identify abnormal ECG findings warranting further evaluation to confirm or exclude cardiac pathology
2. Normal physiologic ECG findings in athletes
- Review criteria and normal ECG patterns in athletes
3. ECG abnormalities in cardiomyopathy
- Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy, Dilated Cardiomyopathy, and Left-Ventricular Non-Compaction
4. ECG abnormalities in primary electrical disease
- Long QT Syndrome, Brugata Type 1 Pattern, Ventricular Pre-Excitation/Wolff-Parkinson-White Pattern, Atroventricular Blocks
5. ECG interpretation challenges and pitfalls
- Common ECG misinterpretations, new definition pathological Q waves, and lead error
6. Advanced ECG Interpretation
- Recognize less common but physiologic ECG findings related to cardiac adaptation in trained athletes
- Distinguish borderline ECG findings and understand when to conduct additional testing
- Identify abnormal ECG findings warranting further evaluation to confirm or exclude cardiac pathology
